Since the early 60s, Pascal Bettex from the Vaud Canton, became fascinated by the work of Jean Tinguely, the technical ingenuity of the early twentieth century, and the life force of the machine. Counter to Tinguely's take on the machine of self-destruction and metamechanics, Bettex became dedicated to creating kinetic works that bring about life, resurrection and restoration to create new life forms.
