The Trope Troupe and Denzil Everett
The Trope Troupe uses found objects, adapted technology, appropriated cultural artefacts and processed digital media; montage, collage and bricolage.
Denzil Everett paints, performs live and creates assemblages of made and found objects.
Trope Troupe presents:
‘Departures 4.01’: This screen-based ‘travel information system’ seems like a twisted admonition to ‘behave’ ourselves on holiday. It is however, in reality, a shocking reminder that around the world so many gay people’s sexuality is still criminalised.
‘iLoot’: This is a display of greed and irresponsibility, or the mad consequence of brand loyalty and the slavish following of fashion. This is as much about the ‘ones that got away’, the politicians and bankers.
Denzil Everett presents:
‘Unnecessary Inventions’ and ‘Suicide Works’:
Interactive pieces made from scrap wood and found materials.
